Release Date
Battlefield 6 launches on October 17, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. No last-gen release — DICE is building exclusively for current hardware.
The Setting
Near-future (2033) global conflict. The fiction involves a fractured NATO responding to coordinated infrastructure attacks across three continents. Six launch maps span urban combat in Seoul, desert warfare in the Maghreb, and Arctic operations in northern Norway.
128-Player Conquest
Conquest returns at 128 players with a new sector-based scoring system that rewards coordinated objective play over individual kills. Each sector has three flags — capturing all three triggers a "sector bleed" that drains the enemy ticket count at double rate.
Hazard Zone 2.0
The original Hazard Zone mode from Battlefield 2042 was a miss. DICE has rebuilt it entirely. HZ 2.0 is a 4-squad extraction mode (16 players total) set on scaled-down versions of the full Conquest maps. Gear persists between matches and the squad-wipe rules encourage aggressive extraction decisions.
Destruction
Levelution returns. All six launch maps have scripted world events — a dam that breaks, a skyscraper that collapses, a snowstorm that rolls in and reduces visibility to 20 metres.
